Scried this week from around the witchy webs are these two bits of news:

In BORDENTOWN NJ there is an upcoming delight of a story this weekend being put on by the

students of Bordentown Regional High School.

The Witch's Princess will be performed by an award winning cast on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26

at 7:30PM at the Bordentown Performing Arts Center.

The Witch's Princess by Don Zolidis flips the usual fairy tale plot on its head. The play is a

comedic fairy tale set in a cursed kingdom. The only way to lift the curse is to slay the witch.

The king decides to offer his daughter’s hand in marriage to the knight who can slay the evil bog

witch. (because its always the princess’ responsibility to be the

reward for fixing the kingdom right?  To avoid a lifetime of laundry and cooking to a clueless

knight, the princess takes matters into her own hands  and sneaks out of the castle to kill the

witch herself.

She assembles the deadliest monsters in myth and legend to help her, and grows with the

discovery that the monsters aren’t what they seem. The narrative about the witch and the curse

has also been skewed too!

Tickets for this comedy production The Witch's Princess are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students and can be purchased

online in advance at www.seatyourself.biz/brhs.

Brainerd Dispatch recently brought our attention to a cozy witchy read just right for the season.

Theresa Bourke reviews The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna (2022) is this article.

Orphaned Mika Moon has not had human connections in her life.

Primrose, who chose to raise her, told her that witches survive best alone,

which was important for secrecy and safety. Follow Bourke's Bookshelf for
